When you are male and you're alone you are fucked. I had waited for 7 hours once and recenlty it took me 4 hours in a rain to get a car to Novosibirsk.
In 2013 me and my girlfriend passed all Pamir Highway only with h-hiking. It possible but still takes a lot of time. Use police checkpoints to get a lift for you.
I paid 700som for getting 2 of us to Kirovsk and no regrets were expirienced. There were 4-5 cars in 6 hours and destination is unknown. I guess it's impossible to cross the pass without 4x4.
There is a bus 207 from busstop called "Center" located on the main street not far from citymarket and railstation. It goes straight to "Kolonka" (2014)
There was severe changes in road infrastructure of Novosibirsk. Police checkpoint is closed. Transit traffic goes on Severnyi ob'ezd (Северный объезд). Forget about this spot.
spot is a bit unpredictable. waiting time varies from minutes to hours. while hitching to Novosibirsk cancel all local cars and you will spend less time on the road
that was a first time after 5 years of h-hiking expirience when I just started thumbing and after 5 second stopped 2 friendly cars in proper direction :)
